Chaplaincy
New Hall Chaplaincy is at the service of all, regardless of individual religious beliefs. As one of the UK’s oldest Catholic schools, New Hall has an exceptional Theology Department, as well as a large Chaplaincy Team.
The School aims to support all staff, students, parents and anyone who forms part of the New Hall community. Our Resident Priest Chaplains, Fr Martin, and Fr Andrew, along with Head of Chaplaincy, Regan Schreiber and the team welcome anyone to visit, or contact by email, should they wish to discuss any matters.

Our Spaces
Caim Space
This cosy room full of sofas, cushions and bean bags is where we host our Chaplaincy sessions for students in Years 5-9. It is also used as a cinema room for virtual seminars, discussion groups and watching movies.
Chaplaincy Chambers
This multipurpose space houses a lounge area, an activity room, a Christian gift shop and our Chaplaincy Office. Students enjoy a wide variety of clubs and activities in this space which can also be used for Chaplaincy sessions. The Chaplaincy Chambers is open during breaktime, lunchtime and after school for students who need a quiet place to relax and unwind. Members of the Chaplaincy Team are available during these times too.
Mass and Liturgy Times
Mass has been celebrated in our historic Chapel for over 225 years, with a strong choral tradition. Visitors and Parishioners are welcome to join the School community at any of the following:
Adoration: Monday – Friday 7.00am | School Chapel
Morning Prayer: Monday – Friday 7.30am | School Chapel
Mass: Monday – Friday 1.00pm | School Chapel
Evening Prayer: Monday – Friday 6.30pm | School Chapel (except for Wednesday and Thursday, which will take place in the Barn Oratory)
Mass: Sunday 5.30pm | School Chapel
The Chapel and the Barn Oratory are always available for private prayer or reflection throughout the week.
Sacramental support
At New Hall, we support students preparing for the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation through a structured programme filled with teaching, prayer and community celebration. Children learn about the meaning and importance of the sacraments in their Theology lessons, and through special preparation sessions. We work closely with parents to guide each child on their spiritual journey.
Preparation for First Holy Communion begins each year in the Lent Term with sessions taking place, for parents and children, before Mass on Sunday.
Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, in both the Anglican and Catholic Churches, begins each year after the Michaelmas half-term break.
We can also support students and families if they wish to undertake the Sacrament of Baptism. Please feel free to contact Fr Martin, Fr Andrew or Mr Schreiber for more information.
