Learn-to-Ride Centre
At New Hall, our equestrian tradition is as deep-rooted as it is forward-thinking. Our Learn-to-Ride Centre is a purpose-built facility with cutting-edge technology supporting every rider, from complete beginners to those competing at national level.
A New Era for Equestrian Excellence
At the heart of the Centre are two Racewood simulators:
- ‘Genesis’ – a dressage-focused simulator offering both beginner-friendly programming and advanced training tools
- ‘Eos’ – a multi-discipline simulator supporting dressage, show jumping and cross-country
These simulators allow students to train year-round, using real-time biometric feedback to refine their technique and improve performance.
Alongside the simulators, the Centre features a dedicated arena and new stables, creating a high-quality on-site training environment for all ages and abilities.
Riding for All – From Grass Roots to Competition Level
We offer riding lessons and equestrian courses as part of our broad and balanced co-curriculum, making the most of our 170-acre parkland. Students can also pursue the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport, where riding is available as a performance element.
New Hall’s Equestrian Team is a vibrant and inclusive community, with riders competing in a wide range of disciplines through the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA). Students regularly qualify for regional and national championships across dressage, show jumping, eventing and grassroots competitions.
A Proud Legacy, A Promising Future
Our equestrian heritage includes national-level success spanning decades and a Royal Visit by HRH Princess Anne. Notable alumna Dr Veronica Lac, founder of The HERD Institute and expert in equine-assisted therapy, began her riding journey at New Hall and continues to inspire future generations.
The School also has a long-standing relationship with the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), with New Hall students supporting therapeutic riding experiences for children and adults with disabilities.
