New Hall Student Named ‘ISA Artist of the Term’
Date Posted: Thursday 02 April 2020
After a week of online voting, we are delighted to announce that Harriette Spriggs (Year 12) has been named ‘ISA Artist of the Term’ for Spring 2020. This elite competition draws an overwhelming amount of entries at the first stage, involving achievements outside of the normal curriculum within Fine Art or Performing Arts.
After taking an early lead within the final shortlist, Harriette faced particularly fierce competition from another student’s artistic achievements at Huddersfield Grammar School. The lead changed hands on a number of occasions until Harriette’s work received a final cluster of votes in the final few hours.
Harriette is an especially proficient portrait painter, whose work was recently entered in the Sky Portrait Artist of the Year competition. Her work and achievement will now be featured prominently in the Independent Schools’ Association news, newsletter and the ISA Journal.
Mr Hughes, Head of Art, Design and Technology, commented on Harriette’s achievement: “As a relatively new member of the Independent Schools’ Association, we are delighted with the recognition of one of our student’s work. Harriette has worked incredibly hard on her entry and we are extremely proud to hear that she has been awarded this prestigious title.”
