Clubs
We have a wide range of clubs for students of all ages and abilities. Our specialist recreational team (including Sports, Performing Arts and Music) organise and supervise our clubs and leisure activities. On-campus facilities include a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, a national standard athletics track, a gym and weight training room, a dance studio, rugby pitches, hockey pitches, tennis courts, netball courts and table tennis tables. The following activities are made available in weekly clubs that the students join on arrival:
Photography
The photography club will teach students the fundamentals of photography in a fun and informative way, inspiring students to learn the skills needed to capture, edit and produce high- quality photographs.
Fashion
Students can explore design processes and create some amazing work. In this club they will learn how to create fashion, taking designs from an initial idea and sketch into a finished concept. Students will experiment with new techniques, build confidence, acquire new skills and be inspired to learn more.
Dance
Students can experience a range of techniques and styles of dance, regardless of previous experience. Students are able to demonstrate their skills with a performance at the end of each week.
Tennis
Through a combination of learning and practice, students will work towards the next stage in their tennis development. This club delivers tennis in a fun environment with tennis games, technical sessions and tennis tournaments.
Swimming
The swimming club will help students to improve their techniques and skills whatever their ability or discipline.
Golf
Whatever their handicap on the golf course, whether complete novice or scratch golfer, this club will improve ability and enhance enjoyment under expert tutelage.
Hockey
This club is aimed at all levels. Students will practise core skills, take part in fun games and be challenged to develop as a player.
Cricket
This club will introduce students to the core skills of the game focussing on bowling, batting, catching and fielding skills.
Cookery
Students will have the opportunity to make, taste and eat a variety of seasonal dishes. Students will be encouraged to enjoy good food and taught how to prepare delicious meals from scratch.
Animal welfare
Hosted at New Hall’s farm this club offers educational experiences for any students who love animals. Students will spend time working with the New Hall animals, hear from guest speakers and have fun working on animal-related projects.
Chaplaincy activities
This club is ideal for students looking to deepen their faith through meditation, mentoring, peer friendships, group activities and reflection.
