New Hall School is delighted to celebrate the opening of Beaulieu Park Station, a new transport hub that puts London just 35 minutes away from the School and strengthens connections across East Anglia and beyond.
Located at the foot of New Hall’s tree-lined avenue, the station is just a short walk from New Hall, making it easier than ever for our students, staff, and visitors to travel to and from London. The new station offers direct London-linked services, providing seamless connections to London Liverpool Street and all major airports, as well as access to East Anglia’s key destinations.
Mrs Katherine Jeffrey, Principal, commented: “As one of the oldest Catholic schools in the UK, New Hall has witnessed centuries of change. The opening of Beaulieu Park Station is an historic milestone that connects our proud heritage with a future full of opportunity and advancement.”
The opening was celebrated by staff and Dance students, who gathered to watch the first train depart at 7.20am with excitement. Passersby were treated to a special performance, as students danced to ‘Chattanooga Choo Choo’ created by New Hall’s own Jazz Initiative, adding a vibrant touch to this historic day. The new station echoes the area’s historic railway heritage, a legacy closely tied with Boreham House, which New Hall acquired in November 2024. When the Great Eastern Railway cut through the Boreham House estate in 1844, the owner, Sir John Tyrell, secured a private railway station on his estate. This station allowed him to stop any train passing through, and consisted of a small hut directly opposite Boreham House. Although the station was demolished following Tyrell’s death, the new Beaulieu Park Station revives this tradition, once again connecting this historic estate to London and beyond. Beaulieu Park Station, the ‘Home of New Hall School’, represents a significant step forward in linking our historic School to the capital, making travel faster, simpler, and more convenient than ever.
