Celebrating Environmental Success with Woodland Trust Awards

Date Posted: Friday 07 March 2025

New Hall is proud to announce its achievement in environmental stewardship, having received the Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Awards from the Woodland Trust. These accolades recognise the School’s dedication to sustainability through various environmental projects, including tree planting, CO2 reduction initiatives, and woodland exploration. The Woodland Trust Awards encourage schools to engage with nature, rewarding them with points for activities that promote environmental awareness and conservation. By successfully completing a series of eco-friendly projects, New Hall School has now progressed through all three award levels and has recently achieved the final Platinum Award.

Pupils in the Preparatory Divisions played a significant role in securing this milestone by participating in innovative outdoor learning experiences. One of their projects involved exploring woodlands to take photographs that served as inspiration for imaginative artwork. This activity encourages pupils to view nature from different perspectives and express their creativity through art. Another project focused on learning about woodland animals, their habitats, and biodiversity. Pupils also identified various tree species using leaves, enhancing their understanding of plant classification and ecological relationships.

The School remains dedicated to promoting sustainability and encouraging all members of its community to care for the environment.
