Date Posted: Thursday 30 January 2025

A team of 16 New Hall skiers showcased exceptional skill and determination at the British Schoolboys’ Championship, held from 26-29 January in Wengen, Switzerland. The competition included two days of training, followed by two days of competition in both Slalom and GS, including team parallel races.

While the challenging weather conditions resulted in the cancellation of the Slalom race, the boys excelled in the Giant Slalom race, securing two impressive podium finishes. Harry (Year 5) triumphed in the U10 category, taking home gold, while the U16A Team, consisting of Year 10 students Robert, Toby, Cameron and Leo, earned a well-deserved second place.

The team have come so far in their sportsmanship, determination and skill levels, with Mr Bigara’s famous warmups at the train station being the building blocks for team spirit and motivation. The team were cheered on by supportive parents, who embarked on the long journey and provided great encouragement and help throughout, as well as New Hall Sport’s Mr Bigara and Mr Garnett and the team at UNIQ, who provided excellent training and demonstrated great adaptability to ensure the boys all had a fantastic time.
