Year 9 Trip to Seville
Date Posted: Sunday 10 November 2024
Seville was the city of choice for 50 Year 9 students and Pepe the Bull on a cultural and language learning trip. Along with visits to emblematic places such as the cathedral and the Royal Alcazar (“palace” in Arabic), students practised their Spanish by talking to locals and honed their cooking skills in a paella masterclass with chef Pablo. The trip included a visit to the Maestranza Bullfighting ring where Pepe, the mascot, had an amazing time knowing that he was going to survive the matador at the end.
The students were fully immersed in Andalusian culture – a visit to the Flamenco museum saw a flamenco show in which they could shout “olé” (bravo) to the dancers at the end. As a perfect end to a great trip, the group enjoyed tapas together. We are sure the trip will be popular with the new cohort of Year 9 Spanish students next academic year!
