Colchester Zoo can accurately weigh their giraffes thanks to new scales that were bought for the zoo by the Year 8 students at New Hall School. The students enjoyed their experience at the zoo during their Biology and Geography field trip so much, that they wanted to give something back to aid the animals. The scales are a really useful tool as weight can be used as a general indicator of health and the zoo is now able to build a better picture of their overall status.
