A Level Politics

‘If I seem to take part in politics, it is only because politics encircles us today like the coil of a snake from which one cannot get out, no matter how much one tries. I wish therefore to wrestle with the snake.’ Mahatma Gandhi

Everyone should study Politics; an A Level in Politics is highly prized by employers and universities. Knowledge of how the political system of a country operates and the philosophies that have shaped it are an indispensable part of the general education of anyone, not least since it enables people properly to fulfil their roles as citizens. For the Greek philosopher Aristotle, politics was the ‘master science’: that is, nothing less than the activity through which people try to improve their lives and create a ‘good society’.
