World Book Day in March 2023

Date Posted: Sunday 05 March 2023

World Book Day at New Hall in March saw the anticipated, rich variety of literary characters arrive at School. The Very Hungry Caterpillar rubbed shoulders with Thing One and Thing Two, and Harry Potter was spotted alongside a significant number of Dalmatians.

Mrs Hammett, Senior Divisions’ Librarian, took things to a different level by dressing as a road, albeit one constructed of yellow brick. I have to admit to being somewhat distracted while delivering a PSHEE talk to Sixth Form students, by a pair of glistening Oompah Loompahs in the back row!

Throughout the week, we were joined by authors such as Natasha Farrant (The Rescue of Ravenwood) and Tracy Corderoy (Hubble Bubble, Granny Trouble!), along with Iona Rangeley, a former member of our Communications Team, who spoke about her trilogy featuring Einstein the Penguin.
