Hawley is a lively house for girls in Years 9 and 10. Girls in Hawley are able to thrive and reach their full potential during these important formative years.
Boarding in Hawley supports individuals in their pursuit of academic excellence. We achieve this by giving all boarders single study rooms and set times in which to study. Resident teachers are on hand to guide students through these important times.
Hawley girls also know how to have fun. Weekly activities, such as debating, cooking, swimming and gym training are all popular, as are the regular trips, for example to the theatre and places of cultural interest. Hawley boarders are well represented at the many clubs and societies on offer and readily take up opportunities to develop their leadership and organisational skills.
We seek to create a family atmosphere where every girl is known and affirmed and feels an integral part of the New Hall family.

Mrs Taylor, Housemistress
Mrs Taylor joined us in her second role as a Boarding Housemistress. With an MA in Fine Art, she also teaches Art and Photography at New Hall, but has a particular interest in Textiles that she hopes to share with girls in the House. Committed to an holistic education, she is keen on activities, trips, games and study, alongside her ability to nurture and build a strong sense of community within her House. In her free time Mrs Taylor can often be found involved in charity fundraising, which she also hopes to involve the girls in, and she practices embroidering Icons.
