Links & Partnerships with other schools

As well as our links to Messing Primary School through the Academy Sponsorship announced in 2012, New Hall initiates a number of partnership arrangements with other local primary and secondary maintained schools. These include the provision of facilities, teaching resources and voluntary help for the benefit of the wider community in both mainstream and special schools.

Typically, partnership arrangements include activities such as the following:

Provision of Teaching, Learning and Resources

  • New Hall hosts student conferences, with a varied programme of academic speakers, to which students and staff from maintained schools are invited
  • New Hall runs a series of educational days on Saturdays during the year, which are open to any child in the local area and are free of charge
  • Pupils from local primary and secondary schools are invited to taster days each year
  • New Hall students work in collaboration with students from other local schools, taking part in the Model United Nations Conference, discussing and raising awareness of global issues
  • New Hall teachers produce course notes, including those approved by examinations boards, which are made available for public use on the internet
  • New Hall hosts conferences with educational specialists, to which staff from maintained schools are invited

Exchanges

The international student exchanges to France and Spain, organised through the Modern Languages Department, are of benefit to students in both countries, fostering mutual respect and a greater understanding of cultural diversity, as well as promoting linguistic excellence.

Model United Nations (MUN)

New Hall students work in collaboration with students from other local schools, taking part in the Model United Nations Conference, discussing and raising awareness of global issues.
